Oh Cellulite! Those annoying dimples and bumps that we most commonly see on us women’s upper things. Oh, how frustrating it is!

Look out for OTC creams that contain caffeine or retinol. Caffeine works to improve blood flow plus can temporarily shrink fat cells. Over time retinol will help repair damaged cells. In combination, retinol and caffeine based creams can be a savior. Apply a retinol based cream first followed by a caffeine based one.

Yes! There is fortunately a cure. They are costly though. Products such as Cellulaze have been FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved to eliminate cellulite. However, depending on the size of the area you need to treat this product can set you back hundreds to thousands of dollars! The experts say this process is very effective and after only an hour the effects can last for years. That sounds worth it right?

  1. What can I do to help the appearance of cellulite?

    There are a few ways you can reduce the appearance of cellulite. Its called exercise! Exercises such as foam rolling and interval training have been shown to help. Foam rolling helps to break down the fat deposits where as interval training aids in burning fat, both making cellulite less noticeable.

  2. Can loosing weight help cellulite to disappear?

    Losing weight won’t necessarily make your cellulite magically disappear. Having an increased percentage of body fat will make cellulite more noticeable. Slimming down wont necessarily get rid of your cellulite as the skin is already stretched and damaged. The amount of cellulite you have can be a result of a variety of factors such as hormonal imbalances, genes and inflammation. UV rays damage the collagen in your skin increasing your cellulite’s visibility. So, this is another reason to slip, slop, slap and look after your skin. Ensure you are using sunscreen with a high SPF of 30 – 50 + when out in the sun or even, just spending time outdoors.
